Children are often unaware of why they do what they do or how to stop doing the things that are landing them in trouble. Therapy can help children identify the triggers to the behavior and also begin to identify appropriate coping skills to change behavior.
Children can have a difficult time expressing their thoughts and feelings through words. Oftentimes children are better able to express their inner thoughts and feelings through the use of play and art. Play therapy can also teach children to improve pro-social behaviors such as following directions, working with others and taking turns.
I strive to provide an environment where children and adolescents will feel safe and free to explore and share problems while we work together to find solutions for success.
